Social impact
Our commitment to our people

Our promise
People, planet and positive progress
At AiP, we believe great food should also be a force for good. Our approach to CSR and sustainability is woven into every part of our catering operations – from the ingredients we source to the communities we support.
We’re working towards a future where our environmental footprint is lighter, our social impact is deeper, and every meal served contributes to a healthier planet and a fairer society.
Working with schools, families and trusted partners, we create measurable social value that reaches far beyond the dining hall.
Our impact

Claire Atkins Morris
Sustainability Director, Sodexo UK & Ireland
We're committed to making a positive difference in the communities we serve. Through our Social Impact Pledge, we're reducing our environmental impact on the journey to Net Zero 2040, supporting those affected by food insecurity through Stop Hunger, and creating opportunities that help people reach their potential. It's about taking practical action that makes long lasting difference, helping to build healthier communities and brighter futures for the next generation.

Net zero
We’re on a science-based, fully validated pathway to achieve net zero across all scopes by 2040, supported by a clear roadmap and measurable progress. Since the start of our Zet zero journey, we’ve saved 353,000 tonnes of CO2 in our kitchens.

Locally sourced
We champion seasonal UK produce, responsibly sourced ingredients and trusted suppliers who share our values. From Red Tractor meat and British Lion eggs to Fairtrade products, we create nutritious meals while supporting local communities and more sustainable supply chains.

Sustainability
We believe great school food should be a force for good. By investing in local SMEs, social enterprises, and minority- and women-owned businesses, we help strengthen local communities and economies. Our menus feature Future 50 Foods, showcasing some of the world's most sustainable ingredients, while our energy-efficient kitchens and sustainability education support a more responsible approach to school dining. Together, we're helping schools make measurable environmental progress and inspiring pupils to make positive choices every day.

Community impact
We know our impact reaches far beyond the dining hall. Through the Stop Hunger Foundation, community partnerships, volunteering and education programmes, we help tackle food insecurity, support families and create opportunities that strengthen communities. Together, we're creating lasting social value for every school community we serve.

Food waste
We believe every ingredient deserves to be valued. Using WasteWatch technology, DRIVE forecasting and smart batch cooking, we've reduced food waste by 50.2%. Lower costs mean less waste and practical opportunities for pupils to learn how everyday choices can make a positive difference.
